Match Heist Crashes or Will Not Open
Six fixes in order of effort, from an app update to a reinstall — plus what to send us if the crash survives all of them.
A game that closes unexpectedly is usually running out of memory or running an old build. Work down this list in order — most crashes stop at step two or three.
Update Match Heist
Open the App Store or Play Store and check for an update. Crash fixes ship in updates, and an old build can crash against current server data.
Close other apps
Match Heist renders in 3D and needs memory. Close background apps — especially browsers, video and camera apps — and try again.
Restart your device
A full restart clears memory that closing apps alone does not.
Free up storage
A device with almost no free storage cannot write save data and can crash on launch. Clear a gigabyte if you can.
Update your operating system
Install any pending iOS or Android update, then relaunch the game.
Reinstall as a last resort
Open the game online at least once first so your progress syncs, then delete and reinstall. Sign in to the same platform account afterwards.
If it still crashes
- Your device model and OS version.
- Whether it crashes on launch or during a level — and which level.
- Roughly when it started, and whether an app or OS update came just before.
Send those details to support and we will investigate.
Frequently asked questions
Will reinstalling lose my progress?
Not if your progress has synced. Open the game online before uninstalling, and sign in with the same Game Center or Google Play Games account afterwards.
